What are the responsibilities and job description for the On/Off-Site Traffic Engineer position at Excelsior Engineering?
Traffic Engineering is responsible for the Engineering Department’s strategic Traffic Safety Improvement Program to plan, implement, and evaluate traffic safety improvements to minimize the frequency, severity, and risk of motor vehicle crashes. The Traffic Engineering discipline is the custodian of the Authority’s crash database known as the Crash Reporting and Analysis for Streets & Highways (CRASH) system, which is an integral component of the Traffic Safety Improvement Program (TSIP).
Traffic Engineering receives over 8,500 motor vehicle crash reports annually from Port Authority Police and is responsible for ensuring the data is recorded into the CRASH system.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The services of the employee shall include, but not be limited to, supporting the Traffic Safety Engineering Department with crash data management and safety data. The duration of the project is estimated for eighteen (18) months from notice to proceed. The services consist of one (1) full-time on/off-site senior safety traffic engineer, five (5) days a week estimated at 2,080 hours per year. The work shall be performed three (3) days a week in person at 4WTC with the balance of the work week performed remotely.
