What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Medical Assistant position at EXCELth INCORPORATED?
Assist Nurse Practitioner's, Physicians and Nurses in the care of patients who present with a range of Behavioral health medical conditions. Schedules appointments, verifies insurance, process referrals, triage patients take vital signs and weigh patients. Records in the Electronic Health Record pertinent health history, presenting complaints and allergies. Reconcile Administers screenings such as the PHQ9. Collects financial information through Household Assessments. Collect fees and make bank deposits. Assist behavioral health providers in the care and management pf patients. Makes and tracts referrals and follow up appointments. Answer phone calls and assist patients in taking care of their needs. Handles clinical and administrative duties as required
Requirements * At least one (1) year experience in clinical and/Behavioral Health setting.

Education * HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT (GED) * TRAINING FROM A STATE-APPROVED SCHOOL OR CERTIFICATION AS A MEDICAL ASSISTANT.

EXCELth, Incorporated is a private, non-profit organization established in 1991, with a mission to improve community healthcare access, reduce health disparities, and enhance health outcomes. Governed by a consumer board and funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), EXCELth initially operated in New Orleans but expanded to include Baton Rouge after Hurricane Katrina to meet the primary care needs of displaced individuals.
