What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Relationship Manager position at Exchange Bank?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manage a portfolio of commercial borrowing relationships and oversee servicing on commercial real estate, commercial construction, residential land development, and residential tract construction loans while developing and maintaining strong client relationships. Ensure the overall success and growth of the assigned portfolio by deepening relationships of existing customers and through the acquisition of new customers. Perform effective financial analysis and underwriting in the areas of credit, cash flow and collateral in line with Exchange Bank’s risk appetite and loan policies. Proactively meet with existing customers in order to fully understand their businesses, goals, strategies and challenges. Accurately assess their financial needs for the purpose of formulating a business plan and delivering an effective variety of financial products and services in order to help the customer succeed financially. Effectively partner with other bankers and lines of business to deliver the full complement of Exchange Bank’s products and services where appropriate and for the benefit of our customers. Achieve required portfolio growth.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of accounting principles, income tax, finance, and loan economics.
- Knowledge of financial statement analysis, loan structure, loan documentation, and regulations.
- Knowledge of general business principles, practices, and terminology.
- Skills operating a personal computer with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Ability to attend early morning and evening meetings and events.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, income tax, finance, and loan economics.
For higher level Commercial Relationship Manager
- Industry specific knowledge helpful for specialization (for example, wine, construction, dairy, etc.)
- Ability to manage larger loan relationships with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to “close” new business relationships from officer’s own sales activities.
Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field; and knowledge typically gained through a minimum of three years of experience in relationship management and/or commercial loan underwriting of larger and more complex loans of $1,000,000 or more in size.
For higher level Commercial Relationship Manager
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field; and knowledge typically gained through a minimum of five years of experience in relationship management and/or commercial loan underwriting of larger and more complex loans of $3,000,000 or more in size.
Compensation
The hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $185,000. The salary offered will fall within this range commensurate with the candidate's applicable experience, education, and skills.
