ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Embody the shared values of Hotel Drover 

  • Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders while acting as an extension of the Hotel Drover brand 

  • Directs, controls all aspects of the Food & Beverage operation in accordance with Hotel Drover standards, policies, and procedures. 

  • Provides guidance and direction to ensure overall departmental success. 

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Assists in training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

  • Responds effectively to internal audit reports and recommendations. 

  • Works effectively with the marketing team and communicates upcoming events. 

  • Participates in management training. Ensures team receives any required training or attends mandatory meetings. 

  • Ensures guests receive outstanding, consistent, exceptional service by circulating through each food & beverage area. Seeks opportunities to improve satisfaction and immediately handles any guest concerns or complaints. Personally, runs training programs if necessary. 

  • Ensures all dining, service and kitchen areas are clean and properly set up. Maintains sufficient inventory of food, supplies and equipment and orders as needed.  

  • Ensures equipment is properly maintained.  

  • Ensures compliance with all food and beverage regulations. 

  • Ensures department follows all standard food handling, TABC, sanitation and health department guidelines. 

  • Follows all safety policies and procedures. Reporting to work as scheduled (on time and on regular basis) is an essential function of the job while ensuring proper manager / supervisor coverage. A flexible schedule is required including weekends and holidays. 

  • Assists with creating weekly schedules, edits daily payroll, processes tip sheets, and approves leave and time away from work within company policy. 

  • Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority, otherwise refers the matter to upper management. Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft. 

  • Ensures the enforcement of high standards of uniform policy, hygiene, and sanitation throughout the F&B areas. 

  • On a need basis covers outlets when leadership team are on vacation, etc.

Qualifications


Qualifications (relevant experience, education, and training): 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • 3 or more years of related and progressive Food & Beverage experience, prior leadership experience desired 

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective operating and control processes designed to attain maximum operating efficiency while ensuring adherence to established operating criteria. 

  • Completes required training as scheduled. 

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.  

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. 

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, guests, and the public.  

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English to communicate with management, team members and guests. Bilingual Spanish a plus. 

  • Must complete TABC alcohol awareness certification as scheduled upon employment. Must have a valid current Food Handler Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Must obtain Serve Safe Certificate within 30 days of employment.
