Staff Accountant – Residential Construction

What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Track and reconcile job costs for residential construction projects
- Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments
- Collaborate with project managers and vendors to ensure proper cost allocations and budget tracking
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, job cost reports, and other management reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and construction industry-specific regulations
- Support external audits, tax preparation, and financial reviews
- Assist in improving and automating accounting processes for greater efficiency
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in residential construction or real estate development
- Knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP schedules, and construction loan draws is a plus
- Experience with accounting software
- Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors
