Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong financial acumen and familiarity with accounting principles, making it essential for the effective management of our accounts receivable processes.
Responsibilities
- Process and record incoming payments accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and send out invoices to clients, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations.
- Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary data related to accounts receivable.
- Collaborate with other departments to address customer inquiries and resolve payment issues.
- Mentor junior staff in technical accounting practices as needed.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation related to accounts receivable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role in public or private accounting environments.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, including debits and credits, budgeting, and technical accounting practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
