Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

1. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.

2. Coordinate with and consult other engineers/designers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.

3. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.

4. Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.

5. Compute mathematical formulas related to and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.

6. Generate and position instructions, bills of materials, and comments onto drawings.

7. Layout, draw, and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.

8. Program CNC equipment.

9. Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  • Proficient knowledge of software including but not limited to Rhino, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products.
  • CNC Programming
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to interact at all levels within and outside the organization

Education and Experience:

  • GED / High School Diploma.
  • AS degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.71 - $23.80 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
