Overview:

The Operations Manager is the focal point for all branch operations and oversees daily business processes to drive efficiency, manages teams, ensures compliance and quality control, and optimizes resource allocation while contributing to strategic planning.

The Operations Manager is expected to enhance the client experience by building long-term meaningful client relationships and by proactively and positively engaging with employees that deliver our services in the field. Their role is to ensure that all the services being provided meet and exceed the client’s expectations.

This individual is to provide guidance and direction as well as ensure that all officers understand the duties and responsibilities of their position. This individual will need to interact well with officers, clients and upper management.

This individual will need to receive direction from management well and be a strong implementer of ideas and solutions. This person is a problem solver with the resources provided.

This is a salaried position and will have on-call responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Overseeing Operations: Manages day-to-day activities to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
  • Strategic Planning: Contributes to the development and implementation of operational strategies. 
  • Team Leadership: Leads, motivates, and manages a team of employees, often through subordinate supervisors.
  • Resource Allocation: Optimizes the use of resources, including human resources, materials, and budget. 
  • Process Improvement: Identifies areas for improvement and implements solutions to enhance efficiency and quality. 
  • Budget Management: Monitors and manages budgets to ensure financial stability and efficiency. 
  • Development: Coach and counsel assigned personnel to assist with their opportunity for advancement/promotability.
  • Compliance: Ensures adherence to company policies, regulations, and legal requirements. 
  • Communication: Communicate high service level expectations consistently to the team to ensure client and employee satisfaction and retention

Job Duties: Operations Management

  • Enforce Executive Security Service’s policies as outlined by the employee handbook and executive memos
  • Work with all levels in the organization to identify, analyze and solve problems and create opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensures a smooth-running operation by enforcing post specific policies and procedures through proper communication and training. May utilize field training staff to assist in executing post-specific training
  • Act as liaison between Executive Security Services and the client to foster customer intimacy, including travel to/from face-to-face meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information and data
  • Keep records and prepare accurate and timely reports both manually and through automated methods
  • Maintain regular attendance to ensure avoidance of unpredictable, frequent and/or ongoing late arrivals and chronic tardiness
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
  • Assist with interviewing and hiring candidates for employment
  • Work in tandem with Human Resources on all facets
  • Direct the work of all officers and direct reports to the appropriate recipient
  • Evaluate officer and direct report’s job performance, increasing employee training and development
  • Responsible for disciplinary actions, promotions, demotions and terminations (with guidance of Human Resources).
  • Evaluate sites on a regular basis to ensure officer efficiency and productivity
  • Create, revise and implement post orders and on-the-job training documents for on-site accounts
  • Regularly perform unannounced spot checks of various sites to maintain quality control
  • Provide or arrange Company training for all new officers to Company standards
  • Manage the vehicles by keeping accurate records of inventory, service and status
  • Maintain vehicle equipment and supplies
  • Maintain all the Cell Phones with an up-to-date inventory and tracking of which sites or districts have what equipment

Requirements

  • DPSST Unarmed/Armed License is Required
  • DPSST Supervisory/Executive Managers License, which must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Three years plus security and/or law enforcement management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Computer literate
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a minimum of up to 100 Officers

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of professional-level experience required, managing non-exempt employees in a fast-paced, service organization. Prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, military and/or customer service highly desired. Experience in scheduling, operations and/or employee management in a service-related industry a significant plus;
  • Demonstrated ability to be very customer service oriented, with the ability to successfully interact with all levels in the organization, including with Security Professionals, Clients, and company President in a courteous and professional manner, while functioning as a team player. Must demonstrate an effective ability to de-escalate situations before they become hostile or unpleasant;
  • Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines. Must demonstrate a high level of integrity, and apply rules, policies and employment actions in a consistent, fair and equitable manner in all situations;
  • Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion;
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to read, write and speak English in a clear, concise manner.
