This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a highly successful organization’s growth as it seeks to hire its first Executive Director.
The Organization
Established in 2010, inSIGHT Through Education’s simple, profound mission is to inspire and educate, encouraging kindness, acceptance, and respect for all, using lessons learned from the Holocaust and genocides worldwide to recognize and oppose antisemitism, hatred, and bigotry.
The State of Florida mandated Holocaust education in 1994. In 2020, the subject of antisemitism was added to the instruction. inSIGHT provides over 90% of the funding for Holocaust education for students and professional development for teachers at Palm Beach County Public Schools, the 10 largest school district in the country.
inSIGHT Through Education funds programs that go above and beyond the mandate, providing engaging, memorable, and impactful experiences. Our vision is to reach EVERY student EVERY year with lessons of kindness, acceptance, and respect, combating the dangers of unchecked hatred. The compounding impact of these lessons leads to empathetic young adults with social media literacy and critical thinking skills, willing to stand up for their rights and the rights of others. Our work is critical.
inSIGHT Through Education has significantly increased its support to Palm Beach County’s Holocaust Studies Program, quadrupling funding over the past two years. Our committed volunteers worked diligently to expand and promote Holocaust education and combat discrimination and hatred of all forms. While our growth has been significant, our ultimate goal is to reach ALL students and educators throughout Palm Beach County and surrounding communities. inSIGHT Through Education remains steadfast in our commitment to unite our diverse community, inspire positive action, and strengthen respect for differences.
inSIGHT Through Education’s Board of Directors has engaged Executive Service Corps- Florida to assist them with developing a three-year strategic plan. It intends for its new Executive Director to be an integral part of their strategic planning team. The Position
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility. S/he will initially develop deep knowledge of the core programs, operations, and the organization’s business plans.

This is an exempt position. The position is primarily remote, with in-person meetings and presentations required. Some evenings and weekends also will be required.
Qualifications:
- An advanced degree (Masters preferred) with at least 5 years of nonprofit senior management experience
- A track record of effectively leading a performance- and outcomes-based organization and staff. Specifically, experience developing and operationalizing strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of its growth.
- Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and develop and manage a budget
- Past success working with a board of directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships.
- Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
- Competence in reading, creating, and understanding financial documents, including budgets, cash flow, income statements, balance statements, and statements of functional expenses
- Familiarity with the basics of 990 tax returns, audits, and compliance
- Experience presenting to groups or other educational activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
- Past K-12 education experience a plus
Starting benefits for the ED position include 3 weeks of paid vacation beginning the first year. inSIGHT will contribute towards the ED's qualified health insurance plan through the Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement (QSEHRA) program. A QSEHRA allows small employers to provide non-taxed reimbursement of certain health care expenses, like health insurance premiums and coinsurance, to employees who maintain minimum essential coverage, including an individual Marketplace plan.
