GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsibility to function as a Production Coordinator: Ensure that the employee handbook is being followed; follow all TS 16949 and ISO 14001 Instructions. Ensures adherence to PPE policy and 5s principles. Ensure work instructions are being followed and employees are properly trained on products and advised of all changes. Ensures documentation on the floor is up to date and controlled. Motivating and mentoring team to support their ongoing development, striving to achieve targets set, and encourage processes to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AUTHORITY, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMNETS OF THE JOB
- Authority
- Update quality acceptance criteria for processes and products in work and inspection instructions.
- Stop shipment of product if quality is suspect.
- Stop production to correct safety concerns, quality problems or non-standard work issues.
- Placement of product on hold.
- Disposition of in-process material.

- First Response for first aide or emergency situations.
- Ensures the use of safe procedures and standard work.
- Understand lock out / tag out locations on machines and grinders.
- Quality/Customer Focus
- Coordinate the training of team members in quality issues and policies.
- Review and communicate deviations / quality alerts / customer concerns to team members.
- Knowledge of standard work, materials, tools, and equipment needed for zone.
- Ensure production is on time with our Layered Process Audits and provide. communication between departments.
- Following the inspection check list for part specifications, perform in process inspections on finished goods.
- Perform melt flow analysis (for resin) and approve the material certification (provided by Supplier) before the material is accepted into the silo.
- Daily Routine
- Maintain the Quality and Fast Response Board and communicate through the shift transition meeting with outgoing/incoming Production Coordinator manufacturing conditions and concerns.
- Measure parts at start-up, at the beginning of the shift and at least 2 times per shift if process is already running when your shift starts.
- Instruct team in proper work methods and standard work, monitor team quality, insure adherence to touch point inspections and packaging.
- Review and understand Plex.
- Distributes team members to specific tasks during setup.
- Assumes the role of supervisor upon absence of shift supervisor, also fills in for vacationing supervisors on any shift when necessary.
- Ensure correct packaging is used according to Plex.
- Change Over Coordination: Work the Set-Up to ensure our team members are participating in change-over preparation and start-up activities. Workcenter line clearance: components, documentation, etc.

- Support and participate in improvements and initiatives.

- Hold findings for management review as required.
- Follow escalation procedures. Notify shift Supervisor when suspect material is identified and participate in the disposition decision.
- Retain samples for problems identified on the quality or fast response boards.
- Update the inspection instruction to show sample of part pass / fail condition.
- Coordinate inspection activities for team members working in the CARE area.

EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Education/Experience
- High school graduate, or general eduation degree (GED).
- 2 years experience in Quality Assurance with a strong understanding of geometric dimentions and teolerances.
- 5 years manufacturing experience with a strong continuous improvement or green belt experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, and procudeure manual.
- Preferred computer skills to include PLEX, TSSPC, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, spreadsheets.
- Ability to effectiely present information in written form as well as verbal with interpersonal skills to communicate with and respond to team members, management, and customers.
- Team player / good attitude.
- Ability to work independantly as well as part of a team.
- Physical Requirement
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operation functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
