Position Overview:  The GIS Analyst will play a critical role in supporting customer projects by collaborating with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements, collecting and transforming data and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.  The GIS Analyst will utilize their expertise in GIS tools and technologies, including Fulcrum, QGIS, ESRI ArcGIS and programming languages such as Python, R and SQL to deliver customized solutions and maintain high standards of data quality throughout the project lifecycle. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to gather and define project requirements.
  • Collect and process customer-provided data in various formats, ensuring it is compatible with project needs.
  • Perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) services to map data into Fulcrum for project execution.
  • Conduct data integrity validation before, during, and after project completion to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain Fulcrum applications tailored to customer and division-specific needs.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal teams and customers to ensure effective utilization of GIS tools and systems.
  • Create, modify, and implement workflows in tools like QGIS, ESRI ArcGIS, and Fulcrum to optimize data processes.
  • Meet with customers at project closeout to review deliverables and provide data exports in their desired formats and layouts.
  • Support the maintenance and development of productivity tools and operational data processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Act as the point of contact for the ESRI environment and ensure its effective use across projects.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience with GIS tools and applications, including Fulcrum, QGIS, and ESRI ArcGIS.
  • Strong programming skills in Java Script, HTML, Python, R, and SQL for data processing and analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Office Suite, and Visual Studio.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on detail and data integrity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with customers and internal teams to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two or more years experience preferred
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, including data export and final presentation to clients.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and practices.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the civil engineering, construction, or utility industries.
  • Proficiency in developing tools and workflows to enhance GIS operations and productivity.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to work a desk job requiring long hours of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Occasionally walking around the office, attending meetings, and visiting different departments.
  • Proficient in using a computer, including typing, using a mouse, and other peripherals.
  • Ability to read and analyze documents, computer screens, and technical diagrams.
  • Effective listening skills for communication during meetings, both in-person and virtual.
  • Potential travel to different locations for meetings, conferences, or site visits, which might involve driving or flying.

Salary Range:  $70,000-85,000
