What You Will Do:
· Perform regular patching and updates on Windows and Linux servers, desktops, and laptops.
· Utilize patch management tools such as WSUS, SCCM, Intune, or third-party solutions to deploy patches efficiently.
· Monitor and test patches in a staging environment before full-scale deployment.
· Identify and troubleshoot patch-related failures, ensuring timely resolution.
· Work with security and compliance teams to ensure systems meet organizational and regulatory patching policies.
· Automate patching processes where possible to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
· Maintain detailed documentation of patching schedules, compliance reports, and system configurations.
· Assist in vulnerability management by applying security patches to mitigate risks.
· Track, manage, and report on vulnerability scores using tools like Tenable, Qualys, or equivalent.
· Provide regular reporting on patching status, compliance, and vulnerabilities to IT leadership.
· Manage and optimize monitoring and reporting tools such as.
· Manage and maintain automation and privilege management tools.
· Support remote monitoring and management platforms like Professional Services Automation (PSA) and Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) for system health and performance.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal disruption to business operations during patching windows.
· Conduct regular audits of system updates and patching compliance.
What You Have Done:
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Experience: 3 years in system administration with a focus on patching and update management.
Technical Skills:
· Strong experience with Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
· Proficiency in using patch management tools such as WSUS, SCCM, Intune, Ivanti, or equivalent.
· Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation of patching tasks.
· Understanding of cybersecurity best practices related to patching and vulnerability management.
· Experience working with Active Directory, Group Policy, and network configurations.
· Familiarity with cloud-based patching solutions (Azure, AWS) is a plus.
· Experience with vulnerability management tools and managing risk scores.
· Experience with business and system monitoring tools.
· Experience with automation and privilege management tools.
· Experience with PSA and RMM platforms.
