Introduction To The Team:

Travel Partnerships and Media helps partners deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences, driving growth for them and the EG marketplace through competitive supply, a valued advertising and travel media network, and affiliate solutions.

Make An Impact:

The Director, Commercial Strategy has advanced capabilities and experience with strategic initiatives, responsible for developing and/or implementing the organization's business strategy. They tackle complex business challenges, owning the definition, planning, and execution of strategic initiatives, partnering with cross functional teams. This person will also partner with business leaders to drive a shared agenda.

In This Role You Will:

  • Identify strategic or high-impact business issues/opportunities and articulates the rationale for initiating a project or change.
  • Collaborate with coaches and colleagues in other departments to develop and assess the viability of potential strategies to address business issues/opportunities.
  • Develop recommendations and presents the business case for change, including viability of solution, implementation considerations, and an implementation roadmap.
  • Advise key stakeholders by continuously helping them to successfully navigate through critical business changes.
  • Utilize deep expertise and contextual awareness to explore complex issues with customers and provide trusted advice.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to others on new ideas and solutions that will improve current business processes and address challenges, and leverages other subject matter experts as needed to develop solutions.
  • Guide others to collect information and analyze complex data and business problems; identifies trends and uses data-driven insights to make recommendations.
  • Mentor others in decision modeling and the process of linking data, knowledge and insights together; considers risks that will impact timing of decisions to ensure the most beneficial decision is made.
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of the industry and its performance by remaining current on leading trends and interacting with industry stakeholders.
  • Serve as an expert on industry issues, including trends and challenges or concepts; provides guidance and expertise on unique situations.
  • Guide customers and key stakeholders on selection and application of industry products/services, enabling them with the proper tools, resources and knowledge for successful implementation.
  • Utilize knowledge of the organization’s business model and operations to drive high impact projects and complex analyses that support the organization’s mission.
  • Leverage deep understanding of the policies, practices, trends and information that impact the organization and its customers to plan for future projects.
  • Utilize knowledge of the business and financial impact of decisions/solutions to drive high-impact projects that support the organization and contribute to financial performance.
  • Place individuals in roles and assignments that contribute to their personal and career development. Facilitates cross-team and cross-divisional movement when appropriate.
  • Coach managers on building trusting, candid relationships with their teams to enable productive development conversations.
  • Hold self and team accountable for setting and meeting departmental goals.
  • Identify and resolves issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, marketing and technical goals.
  • Help team members identify and build key relationships and networks inside and outside the organization.
  • Inspire and gains the commitment of others towards the vision, mission, values and organizational goals.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Adept problem solver who supports a test-and-learn and data driven decision making culture
  • Ability to influence and change mindsets at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in leading development of a narrative using data and insights to drive action; mindful of adapting messaging to audience at hand
  • Makes sound business decisions by combining a number of factors to arrive at the best outcome for a given situation
  • Able to identify, scope, and deliver on strategic projects working with stakeholders of all levels
  • Subject matter expert sought after for expertise in a defined range of situations with the ability to translate the insights into action; works with leaders in developing a strategy
  • 12 years relevant experience with Bachelor's degree
  • 10 years relevant experience with Master's degree
  • 6 years of experience in consulting

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $197,000.00 to $275,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $315,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
