Expedient is hiring a Senior Accountant. This is a hybrid position meaning, employees work part of the week in the office and part of the week remote. Our office is located in Nova Place, fka Allegheny Center Mall, on Pittsburgh’s North Shore (parking is provided to employees). To be successful in this role a candidate needs: a basic accounting foundation, to be organized, to have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, adapt and take on new responsibilities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- 2 years of previous experience in corporate or public accounting
- Knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, month-end close processes and internal controls
- Working knowledge of Sage Intacct or equivalent ERP system (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task to complete tasks accurately and timely while under time sensitive deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mature understanding of confidentiality and discretion with company financial information
- Proactive self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to complete pre-employment drug and background screenings
- Performs month-end closing procedures across revenue and expense-related areas, including preparation of related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analyses
- Oversee the accounting of fixed assets including fixed asset audits
- Manage various corporate-based accounts, including payroll, benefits, insurance, sales and local taxes, and financing arrangements
- Complete and file property tax returns and manage related accounting
- Collaborate cross functionally with the purchasing, accounts payable, billing, and collection teams to ensure proper revenue and expense recognition
- Prepare schedules and provide accounting data to support annual external audit
- Participate in other areas, including unclaimed property and related filings, bank reconciliations, and other treasury-related functions
- Manage standard operating procedures to ensure consistent execution and to maintain high quality of responsibilities performed
- Drive continuous process improvements which includes standardizing, automating and enhancing processes
- Assist in various projects as they arise from the accounting team

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
