Job Description
Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing an exceptional customer service within TRANSCON department.
This position is the Late Shift (M-F from 4 P.M. - 1 A.M.)
People :
Identify with manager / supervisor, develop, and mentor your No. 2.
Support the supervisor where needed :
- Allocate workloads within team to ensure smooth operations during peak activity or staff absence.
- Temp staff management to ensure productivity is at or above standard. Monitor hours.
- Be a guide for the team - mentor agents
- Ensure team meets company standards of 52 hours training per year per employee.
- Follow-up new hires training as per the company requirement standards.
- Daily dock meetings with team. What went right yesterday, what is on plate for today and what tomorrow looks like.
- Ensure and enforce Expeditors warehouse safety measures
Operations :
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.
- Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency.
- Ensure all customers standard operating procedures are followed as per the DLSOP.
- Work with the team on meeting KPI standards, as per the company’s procedures.
Customer
Support the manager where needed :
- Assist the manager and supervisor in responding timely to requests for information
- Participate in the transition of new business / updates to existing business.
- Make sure department deadlines are being met and maintained.
Compliance :
- Promote compliance by diligently following all company policies and regulations and in being the role model of integrity and pride for all employees.
- Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
- Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.

- Monitor shipment reports to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Active role in Branch Process Management program.
Knowledge :
- Forklift certified
- Background in Expeditors company policies and procedures
- A good understanding of Expeditors’ products, services and systems
- Basic local regulatory knowledge for compliance
Skills :
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate, and provide clear and concise direction to obtain positive results.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
