SUMMARY
This position primarily supports EAA’s youth education programming through scheduling, set-up and providing overall support for the educator team. The position assists Education and Museum staff with youth education duties, museum operations and outreach programs. Additional duties will entail supporting education by planning museum tours, educational programs, overnights, and camps.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for working with events to schedule education programs and tours for both youth and adult groups.
- Assist educators in set up needs/supplies for education.
- Prepare support/supplemental materials for education programming.
- Provide assistance and support as needed with daily programming, overnights, and camp programs. Program administration includes: Processing applications, responding to on-line, written and telephone requests for program information, maintaining written administrative procedures, compiling forms, initiating and tracking purchases, re-ordering application materials, fees and billings.
- Provide administrative support for development, marketing, registration, and accounting for education/museum programs.
- Assist department staff with the execution of the EAA’s overall strategic direction for youth education and scholarship programs.
- Prepare requisitions for purchases and supplies, follow-up processing and receipt of ordered items.
- Respond to museum/education requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
- Interact with internal departments to successfully plan and execute education/museum programs and tours.
- Develop and recommend forms, letters, and administrative procedures.
- Embrace and support the EAA mission and perform safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative assistant role
- High degree of enthusiasm, energy level, and passion for engaging youth in aviation.
- Ability to work independently, work under pressure of deadlines, handle multiple priorities, pay close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to establish and maintain paperwork and computer files.
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively and tactfully with fellow employees, volunteers and the public.
- Strong written, verbal and organizational skills, excellent editing skills with respect to grammar and punctuation, and ability to arrange material into balanced and comprehensive copy.
- Extensive working knowledge of PC operations including: Microsoft Office Suite (including outlook, word, excel, powerpoint, etc) or Google Suite, and the ability to learn database processing in Aptify, Innfusion and EZ-Camp.
- Ability to collaborate professionally and successfully with others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in an academic setting, specifically with youth.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Typical office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
