Tax Accountant
Join our client, a leading organization in the finance and accounting sector, in their search for a skilled Tax Accountant.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to support payroll operations within the finance department. As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for performing monthly comparisons, reconciliations, and payments based on large data sets for US, Canada, or Latin America tax reconciliations and 3rd party vendor payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet all payroll, vendor, and government deadlines for reporting employee off-cycle payments and tax payments.
- Compile payroll-related information requested by legal, governmental authorities, or insurance providers.
- Apply advanced technology in the analysis, design, and development of complicated ad-hoc and routine audit reports.
- Research state and local withholding requirements to ensure new and existing employees are set up to tax correctly.
Requirements:
- S/BA in Finance, HR, Accounting, Mathematics, or other relevant field.
- Proficient in Excel (advanced to expert skill level).
- Ability to assess risks and determine the most appropriate path forward to resolution.
- Understanding of gross to net payslip calculation, employee benefit programs, and tax implications.
- Experience with Federal and multi-state tax rates, calculations, reporting, and filing.
