Detailed Overview / Job Description:
- Perform monthly comparisons, reconciliations and payments based on large data sets for US, Canada or Latin America tax reconciliations and 3rd party vendor payments / benefits; determine action required and execute system batch process.
- Meet all payroll, vendor and government deadlines for reporting employee off-cycle payments; reporting tax payments and perform agreed level of audits on payments and reporting to identify/prevent abnormalities when processing.
- Compile payroll related information requested by legal, governmental authorities or insurance providers.
- Apply advanced technology in the analysis, design and development of complicated ad-hoc and routine audits reports to meet the needs of payroll operations, management and regulatory agencies.
- Provide support on vendor and payroll system set ups, issues and/or questions.
- Utilize technical and analytical skills to document processes, reduce processing times and improve accuracy.
- Research state and local withholding requirements to ensure new and existing employees are set up to tax correctly
Specifically, candidate will support:
- US and Canada employee tax cases including employee inquires/policy education, tax breakdowns, agency letters and W2C’s.
- Employee and employer batch tax reconciliation and adjustments in our payroll system at the federal, state and provincial level.
- Employer tax filing and payments with agencies
- AMR Pay Reqs and Vendor Invoice submission and tracking
- ADP, Workday and Payroll Ops Documentation, Reporting and Testing
- Analyze/Support Payroll Errors, Payroll System G2 failures and SOX compliance audits.
- Participate in and deliver US, Canada and ALAC ad hoc reporting, projects and analysis.
Education / Experience / Key Qualification
- S/BA in Finance,HR, Accounting, Mathematics or other relevant field strongly preferred.
- Proficient in excel (advanced to expert skill level) * Fast learner with Ability to learn various systems quickly * Ability to assess risks and determine the most appropriate path forward to resolution.
- Understanding of gross to net payslip calculation, employee benefit programs and tax implications.
- Experience with Federal and multi-state tax rates, calculations, reporting and filing.
- Obsess over the employee experience and accuracy.
