Job Description
What you will be doing : Support the Engineering Team to provide engineering services to various departments.Assist with mechanical designs of Mohawk new products, accessories, and customization.Enhance and revise product designs with a focus on part standardization, simplification to manufacture, and reduction of cost.Develop product documentation, technical specifications, and support organizational compliance with testing and certifying organizations.Research and identify the mechanics, performance, and functional requirements of the product.Partner with Purchasing and Production departments to create design improvements.Collaborate with sales and other functions on new product development and customization projects.Conceptualize, plan design, model building, testing, costing, and customer acceptance activity.Conduct product NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) inspections and assist with planning related to lift certifications.Assist with monthly Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) lift reporting.Participate in industry activities related to project technologies.Represent the Engineering department in production meetings when assigned.Perform MRP (BOM) data entry and drawing revisions.Document and execute engineering change requests (ECRs).Complete other functions as assigned.Experience you will need : Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting and five years of experience.In-depth knowledge of mechanical design and drafting.3D CAD experience within Autodesk Inventor.Experience with a Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system.Experience in revising existing designs with a focus on continuous improvement of quality and cost reduction.Qualitative and / or quantitative professional experience in the manufacturing industry.Understanding of CAD drawings, bill of materials, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor suite, and Vault.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Ability to interact with customers via phone and in-person.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.Good mechanical aptitude.Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Our client asked me to submit 3 great people within the next few days.
