What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Engineer I, BRS position at Exploratory Ventures, LLC?
Objective of the Job:
This position is focused on designing, developing, and maintaining various automation systems for coil material handling.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.
2) Designs, develops, tests, and implements automation systems to ensure optimal material handling of WIP and finished coil products
3) Coordinates with the operational teams to streamline product delivery to various production lines via automated systems
4) Maintains and troubleshoots logistic systems to guarantee system uptime and reliability
5) Works with coil material handling OEM’s in order to resolve various system issues
6) Maintains various servers and miscellaneous hardware related to coil material handling
7) Supports and maintains production databases to prevent any interruptions with shipping and operations
Qualifications:
1) Team player with good communication skills
2) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field of study, or equivalent work experience
3) Strong understanding of relational databases, stored procedures, and scheduled database jobs
4) Knowledgeable on network infrastructure, design, and maintenance
5) Skilled in Windows Server maintenance and troubleshooting
6) Basic understanding of electricity and ladder logic
7) Manufacturing background is preferable
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Environment is typical for a steel mill production area, with extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and Dusty / greasy areas. Work includes a combination of work in an office setting as well as a mill environment. This position can require long hours, weekend, and holiday coverage to support 24/7 operations.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not supervise others.
