What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineering Intern - Summer Internship position at Explorer Pipeline?
We are looking for a summer Electrical Engineering intern who will work out of our Tulsa, OK office Monday - Friday. Successful candidates will be enrolled in an accredited college, technical school, or university and will have completed their junior year by this summer. The internship does require the ability to travel up to 50% to locations located on or near our pipeline.
The Electrical Engineering Intern focus will mainly be in our Reliability Program and will have an opportunity to be directly involved in numerous projects including but not limited to: Capital/Expense projects; Variable Frequency Drive (VFD’s), Motors, Switchgear, Motor Control Centers and data collection for Arc Flash studies and Power optimization.
Other Activities include:
- Motor acceptance testing
- Equipment database maintenance
- Site visits to local vendors
- Relay field testing
- Motor removal and replacement with spare/miscellaneous motor repairs
- Site visit during construction of Fauna project
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful intern candidate will have:
- completed their college Junior year by this summer (degree focus should be in Electrical Engineering)
- be self-motivated
- a high level of verbal and written communication skills
- a focus on time and resource management
- solid computer skills
- outstanding project execution capability and the ability to travel up to 50%
