Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine project scope
- Work with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
- Develop and submit accurate bid proposals within deadlines
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and risk factors for each project
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate budgeting
- Utilize estimating software and spreadsheets to streamline calculations
- Track and adjust estimates based on change orders and project modifications
- 3 years of experience as a Construction Estimator (commercial or industrial projects preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project sequencing
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and bid documents
- Experience using estimating software (such as ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or Sage Estimating)
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills for cost analysis and budgeting
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
- Knowledge of building codes, OSHA regulations, and industry standards
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license (REQUIRED) and ability to travel to job sites as needed
