Job Title: Job Shop Mechanic

Hours:6:30-3pm Monday- Friday

Pay: $26-$28/hr

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanic/Maintenance candidate with a passion for tackling challenging projects. From assembling gear boxes to intricate ladder systems with electric motors and winches, the ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role requires a clear understanding of facility maintenance alongside mechanical expertise. The successful candidate will excel at following instructions, collaborating within a team, interpreting drawings, and meeting production expectations and deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assemble, build, repair, and maintain manufactured parts, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
• Work under moderate supervision while demonstrating self-starting capabilities.
• Provide assistance to production areas as needed.
• Ability to interpret and execute tasks based on written and verbal instructions, including drawings and work orders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve non-routine problems that may arise during projects.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area, and ensure a safe working environment.
• Accurately record time against assigned work orders and tasks.
• Conduct quality checks on parts and equipment, reporting deficiencies and recommending corrective actions to supervisors.
• Safely operate shop equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, saws, etc.
  
  

Required Skills

• 2 to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing/assembly industry, preferably in a custom job shop environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machinery.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, powered tools, band saw, Bridgeport, and drill press.
• Electrical background and knowledge.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Proficient in operating an overhead crane.
• Commitment to promoting and adhering to safety standards.
