- Safely operate forklift for routine established work, must be licensed. Lifting and moving 5-10,000 lbs.
- Always follow the safe operation of all equipment and follow safety guidelines
- Perform assigned work in a timely manner
- Capable of making routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic banding and packaging issues or seek assistance from a supervisor
- Report and correctly document Bill of Lading, incoming steel, out-going finished product and safely and properly load and unload trucks
- Perform equipment preventative maintenance checks daily on equipment
- Teamwork and Communication between shifts is mandatory
- Package parts according to company procedures
- Band bundles according to company procedures
- Each shift is responsible for properly banding and packaging finish bundles according to companies banding procedures. Supervisors and Quality will address packaging discrepancies should the need arise, only supervisors or quality
- Basic knowledge and understanding of material handling including all safety guidelines
- Demonstrate competency in basic shop math
- Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance
- Flexible and responsive with with a strong teamwork orientation
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement
- Sit, stand, and walk for 1-10 hours a day
- Lift, carry, push and or pull 1-50 lbs frequently
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach outward frequently
- Ability to work in a 65-88 degree Fahrenheit work environment
- Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, hand protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing
