Job Description
- Maintain compliance with company policies and payroll procedures.
- Process weekly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Update payroll information, including exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and departmental transfers.
- Prepare reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and other payroll-related information.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in collaboration with HR.
- Maintain payroll records by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Assist with bonus and salary-based compensation calculations.
- Calculate payroll liabilities, including federal/state taxes, social security, and employer contributions.
- Communicate payroll deductions to 401(k) and other pre-tax savings plan administrators.
- Protect sensitive payroll information and uphold confidentiality.
- 2-3 years of current payroll experience.
- Understanding of payroll concepts, accounting principles, and general math skills.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Payroll and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
- Experience in an office setting.
- Previous payroll software experience is a plus.
