Key Responsibilities
- Shipping Coordination: Process and prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels. Schedule shipments and coordinate with carriers to ensure timely delivery.
- Receiving Duties: Oversee the receiving process, including inspecting and verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders, and managing the proper storage of goods.
- Inventory Management: Track inventory levels, update inventory records, and assist with inventory audits. Report discrepancies and address any issues related to stock levels.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory transactions. Prepare and distribute reports as needed.
- Customer Service: Communicate with customers and vendors to address shipping and receiving inquiries, resolve issues, and provide updates on order status.
- Compliance: Ensure all shipping and receiving activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including purchasing, sales, and warehousing, to support overall business operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or a similar administrative role.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices is a plus.
