Express Employment Professionals, a full-service employment agency, is partnering with a local Grand Forks business to fill a Weatherization Crew Technician position. Weatherization Crew technician aims to reduce the energy costs of low-income families through energy-efficient weatherization measures. Each household is visited by an energy auditor who determines which conservation measures will be most cost effective for each unit. A Weatherization Crew Technician is responsible for providing energy conservation services to targeted eligible households. Technicians will be required to coordinate the installation of sheet rock, insulation, water heater jacks, etc. Conforming to applicable safety regulations and agency procedures are a must. Duties
- use basic hand and power tools
- prepare and apply weather-stripping, glazing, caulking and door sweeps to reduce energy losses
- install storm windows, windows, doors, and insulation
- seal air ducts, install smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and LED light bulbs
- test and diagnose air flow systems, using furnace efficiency analysis equipment
- wrap water heaters with water heater blankets
- apply spackling, compounding and other materials to repair holes in walls
- clean and maintain tools and equipment
- work on a ladder, lift materials into place and squeeze through crawl spaces
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Consistent work history.
- Must be able to be fitted and wear a respirator on the job.
- Must be able to lift up to 75-100 lbs.
