Summary/Objective
The estimator is responsible for developing cost estimates on all projects and finalizing the sale to the client by executing a contract for services to be performed by the company’s. and/or the subcontractors engaged.
Essential Functions

- Conduct meetings with potential clients to understand the type of work to be performed and the scope of the potential project.
- Secure budget expectations to further qualify the client
- Execute take-offs of construction documents and inputs into the Construction Management platform.
- Obtains pricing for materials and solicits bids from subcontractors.
- Completes the cost analysis in the Construction Management platform by incorporating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items; ensures the project estimate includes the specified profit and that the project can be accomplished at the company’s established level of quality.
Provides a conceptual budget and/or a completed estimate to the potential client within 48-72 hours of the initial appointment.
Follow up by phone and/or in person with the client to ensure they received the estimate and to answer any questions
- Sells the project by finalizing and executing the customer contract.
- Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, building codes, etc.
- Attends departmental meetings as required.
- Works closely with Project Manager to ensure required profits are met
- Ensures all trade bids, documents, and photos are loaded in Construction Management Platform
- Prepares base schedule outline, PO’s and Subcontracts in Construction Management Program
- Prepares project hand-off packet & attends Pre-construction Conference (PCC)
- Other duties as assigned

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a salaried full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day. Certain situations could involve overnight travel.
Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
· 5 years of experience in the home remodeling/construction industry
Preferred Education and Experience
· Associates degree in General Contracting or Construction Management
· Licensed General Contractor
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate NC driver’s license prior to employment.
Must possess and maintain a valid NC driver’s license and vehicle insurance
Work Authorization
Must be a US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident.
