Maintenance Mechanic

Summary:

Conducts scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the physical plant, handling electrical, mechanical, and electronic repairs. Troubleshoots and identifies issues with non-functioning CNC-controlled mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process.

Compensation: $30-40/hr DOE

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5 am to 1:30 pm or 1:30 pm to 10 pm and Saturday as needed

Location: Glastonbury, CT

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth machine operation and minimize downtime.
• Conducts scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Works at heights up to 30 feet. Installs, repairs, or replaces worn or defective parts, motors, control devices, electronics, and other components, troubleshooting all equipment as needed.
• Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues, referencing repair manuals and parts catalogs when necessary. Inspects, operates, and tests machinery to identify malfunctions.
• Records all maintenance and repair activities.
• Dismantles equipment to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required tasks.
• Complies with OSHA safety and health regulations and receives necessary OSHA and job-specific training.
• Performs additional duties as assigned and demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• 5 or more years experience in dealing with maintenance in a similar environment or equivalent education.
• Experience in Electronics, Electrical repairs, Industrial Equipment installations, alignment, start-up repairs, cranes, etc.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and basic wiring (480 V through control voltage, basic PLC knowledge, relays, starters etc.)
