This position supports the operations and maintenance of Department of Health facilities, ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant work environments. Responsibilities include managing building repairs, coordinating services like elevator and air conditioning maintenance, and ensuring compliance with energy conservation and safety guidelines. The role involves developing policies and procedures for facility management and working with both internal staff and external contractors. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential to maintain facility standards and resolve issues with building tenants.
Responsibilities :
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for efficient, safe, and economical facility use.
- Evaluates space utilization and recommend adjustments or additional space as needed.
- Coordinates repairs, maintenance, and renovations, including procurement and contractor coordination.
- Manages the Waimano Ridge Property, responding to infrastructure needs and liaising with the state departments and private entities.
- Assists with inspections, fieldwork, and contractor coordination for capital imporvemtn projects.
- Drafts office space plans and represents the CIP coordinator at meetings.
- Supports initiatives to reduce energy and water use, improve wate management, and implement sustainable building practices.
- Hawaii Driver's License
- Experience as a Project Manager or Building Manager
- Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- Understanding of building management, design, construction, and estimating
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws, as well as departmental regulations
- Profcency in using computers, word processing, spreadsheets, and office machines
