Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the forklift to move completed lumber units from the Sawmill outfeed to the inventory yard.
- Accurately place lumber units in the inventory yard, ensuring no damage occurs during movement.
- Transport lumber, sticker racks, and cleanup carts to and from the planer.
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and policies.
- Take direction and work independently while maintaining a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Communicate effectively with other employees and Foremen to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain punctuality and excellent attendance.
- Keep a clean work area and perform daily equipment inspections.
- Report any equipment issues immediately to the mechanical shop.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous forklift operating experience is required.
- Experience with safe forklift and loader operations, with a preference for lumber handling experience.
- Strong depth perception, eyesight, and coordination to safely operate machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
