Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Seed Processing Lead on behalf of a global leader in seed production. Based at the Tangent, OR production facility, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the highest standards of seed quality, efficiency, and process control.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for leading seed processing operations from initial receiving to final packaging, ensuring seamless production flow, quality control, and operational excellence. With advanced technical expertise, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Seed Processing Lead will drive efficiency, safety, and innovation within the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and oversee seed processing equipment including cleaning systems, gravity tables, sizing machines, rotors, dryers, and chemical application stations.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, contamination prevention, and regulatory compliance.
- Utilize and oversee Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and SCADA systems to optimize production processes.
- Work independently while collaborating with Supervisors, Quality Teams, and cross-functional departments to exceed production goals.
- Train, lead, and mentor processing crews, making critical decisions in the supervisor's absence and taking full ownership of production quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring seamless shift transitions and operational transparency.
- Enforce company safety policies, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Cross-train in multiple operational areas to support evolving business needs.
- Occasionally travel, drive, and operate forklifts as required.
- Maintain reliable attendance and perform additional duties as assigned.
