Guitar and Vocal Teacher

Exquisite Music is seeking a passionate and experienced Guitar and Vocal Teacher interested in student teaching for private or group lessons, or both. As a studio teacher, you will work closely with students to help them develop their musical skills and achieve their goals.

The teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to students of various ages and skill levels. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and guiding students in the exploration and appreciation of music.

Lesson Structure

• Size: 1- 30 students / individual & group lessons
• Each Class Length: 20 minutes to 1 hour
• Availability on the following Days/Times: Wednesdays, 2:30 - 8:00 p.m and Thursdays 8:00 - 1:30 p.m.
• Location: Exquisite Music Hacienda Heights Studio and La Habra

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop customized lesson plans tailored to students of different skill set levels applicable to technique, theory, repertoire and performance.
• Instructor agrees to facilitate the learning of all participants in group and private sessions.
• Regularly evaluate and document student progress, providing constructive feedback and adjustments to lesson plans as needed to help students achieve their musical goals.
• Set up instruction space and leave instruction space as received when you leave the room
• Cultivate a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that motivates students to build their confidence, and fosters a love for music.
• Absolutely no yelling or raising your voice at students
• All behavior problems must immediately be reported to the Exquisite Music Director with a date, explanation and time of occurrence.
• Complete lesson report at the end of each lesson as designated by the Exquisite Music Director
• Teacher agrees to keep all shared information from Exquisite Music private and confidential

Qualifications

• B. A. in music education or related field
• Teaching experience a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with students.
• Ability to work well in a classroom environment and manage a group of young students
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, encouraging teaching style
• Flexibility in adapting to schedule changes

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
