Position Summary : ELO Athletics Coach / Elementary Athletics Coach provides an enjoyable and safe sporting experience for an assigned group of youngsters while they learn individual and team game skills, sportsmanship, and fair play.
About Education for Change Public Schools
Founded in 2005, Education for Change (EFC) is a charter management organization that was created as a partnership between Oakland Unified School District and the education reform community in order to leverage the flexibilities in charter law to facilitate greater innovation and to address the underperformance of our most vulnerable student populations. EFC is Oakland’s largest charter operator, serving over 2,700 students in the Fruitvale and Elmhurst neighborhoods of East Oakland. Five of six of our schools were formerly OUSD schools that converted to EFC to leverage the flexibility and agility provided by charter law for greater outcomes for our students.
Job Responsibilities :
- Coach an assigned group of children emphasizing skill development, safety, fair play, sportsmanship, and fun.
- Preside over team activities including all scheduled team practices and games
- Be responsible for team equipment
- Ensure equal playing time for all your players regardless of the score.
- Work to establish and improve team unity and spirit.
- Adhere to EFCPS and athletic league policies, objectives, and rules. Lead by example among team parents to support the responsibilities of the referee and league leadership.

Requirements :
Department of Justice clearance based on fingerprinting submission.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a contracted position with the hourly rate of $35 and does NOT include a benefits package.

Work Schedule
Time Commitment : 3-5 hours per week after school hours (includes meetings, practice and games)

General Sports Schedule :
Co-Ed Flag Football : October-December
Boys Basketball : January-March
Girls Basketball : January-March
Boys Soccer : April-june
Girls Soccer : April-June
Co-Ed Cheerleading : October-June
Salary : $35
