What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Roofing Estimator position at Exterior Plus LLC?
Exterior Plus is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing construction documents, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring projects are completed within budget. To include but not be limited to Commercial and Residential, Government and Private Sector.
**Duties: **
- Review and interpret plans and specifications
- Communicate with clients and their liaisons
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers and subcontractors
- Utilize software for estimating purposes
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process
- Provide detailed reports on estimated costs versus actual costs
- Assist in project management activities as needed
- Attend job walks periodically to create scope as necessary
**Experience: **
- Proven experience in roofing estimating
- Proficiency in estimating
- Proficiency in field evaluations
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of cost control principles
- Familiarity with project management processes
- Ability to read blueprints
- Understanding of permit submittal and processing
- Ability to work effectively on sites
- Strong knowledge of roofing practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
