Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are considered. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively. The Estimator will play a crucial role in project management and cost control, contributing to the overall success of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects using software tools
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements and scope.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Conduct thorough market research to establish competitive pricing for materials and labor.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Provide support in project management by assisting with scheduling, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with construction management principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Proficient in using estimating software for efficient project analysis.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully managing contracts and pricing discussions.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in cost control measures.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Omaha, NE, This role can be done from any of the Exterior Plus locations; Mesa, AZ, Lees Summit, MO, St. Louis, MO or Greenville, SC.
