Summary
The Data Science and Attribution Analyst offers intelligence and insight to support SHRM's divisions. This position is responsible for thoroughly understanding the organization's data infrastructure, attribution modeling processes, and business needs to help translate complex data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
Develop Propensity models, LTV and other campaign optimization strategies. Develop custom segmentation, target audience lists and data products for marketing campaigns and to inform go-to-market strategies.
Analyze large data sets from multiple sources to identify trends, root causes, and business improvement opportunities, and visualize those findings using traditional and digital analytics tools.
Help marketing teams Improve marketing campaign performance – especially as it relates to marketing attribution. Using data build metrics for measurement of marketing performance across channels including conversion and attribution.
Use systems like Tableau and Alteryx to produce and maintain regular dashboards and visualize data from various SHRM data sources.
Conduct in-depth analysis of data, including attribution modeling, media mix modeling, cohort analysis, and advanced segmentation. Translate data insights into actionable recommendations to optimize tactics and improve ROI.
Support a fact-based culture to drive decision-making and investments.
Support business units in understanding and validating results; help tell the data story by extracting actionable insights from complex data.
Utilize customer data analytics to gain insights into customer behavior, enable personalized marketing campaigns and improve customer experiences, including segmentation analysis and audience building.
Support Business Intelligence data efforts through quality assurance and due diligence.
Other duties and projects assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Business or Marketing; or equivalent relevant work experience/training
At least three (3) years of experience with data analytics/sciences. Experience with data science or working on large, complex data sets is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Notable accomplishments in data storytelling & customer demographics data.
Exposure to Google cloud and big query; Microsoft Azure or AWS
Ability to build professional relationships across reporting lines.
Collaboration with both technology/technical and business (Sales, Marketing, Product) stakeholders
Certifications
Tableau Desktop Certified preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Advanced Data Analytics & Insights: Expertise in data segmentation, predictive modeling, attribution modeling, cohort analysis, and data visualization. Proven ability to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
Marketing & Product-Based Data Analysis: Experience analyzing marketing and product data to drive strategic decision-making and optimize performance.
Customer Data & Targeting: Strong understanding of customer segmentation, behavioral analysis, customer journey mapping, and demand generation strategies to enhance engagement and ROI.
Performance Measurement & KPI Tracking: Ability to establish key performance metrics, track marketing campaign effectiveness, and optimize strategies using data-driven insights.
Experience in Matrixed Organizations: Skilled in navigating complex, cross-functional environments while balancing competing priorities and collaborating effectively.
Technical & Statistical Proficiency: Expertise in SQL, Python, R, ML/AI, and statistical analysis tools for data-driven decision-making.
Data Visualization & Reporting: Hands-on experience with Tableau, Alteryx, MSSQL, and modern reporting platforms to present insights effectively.
Attention to Detail & Accuracy: Strong analytical skills, meticulous accuracy in reporting, and ability to manage sensitive data with confidentiality.
Project & Time Management: Strong planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet critical deadlines, and streamline workflows efficiently.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate data insights into strategic business recommendations.
Digital Business & Platform Understanding: Strong grasp of complex platform concepts, digital business models, and data-driven marketing strategies.
Microsoft Office Proficiency: Skilled in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other business productivity tools.

The hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $92,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
