Summary
Reporting to the Lead, Content Operations & Publishing, this role will be at the forefront of SHRM’s content delivery strategy — building, deploying, and optimizing SHRM’s 15 daily, weekly, and monthly newsletters. Leveraging advanced analytics and digital marketing tools, you’ll work to boost subscriber engagement, refine strategies, and drive continuous improvement to ensure newsletters remain an indispensable resource for our audiences.
Responsibilities
Newsletter Production & Deployment
Build, schedule, and deploy SHRM’s newsletters with a focus on timeliness, accuracy, and brand consistency.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align newsletter content with broader marketing initiatives and organizational goals.
Content Analysis & Optimization
Partner with the Business Intelligence team and leverage Adobe Customer Journey Analytics and Adobe Marketo Engage to analyze newsletter performance and subscriber behavior.
Make data-driven recommendations to optimize open rates, click-through rates, and overall engagement.
Implement dynamic content segmentation strategies to tailor newsletter content for specific audience segments.
A/B Testing & Performance Tracking
Conduct ongoing A/B testing on various newsletter elements — subject lines, layout, calls-to-action — to identify the most effective tactics.
Establish benchmarks and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure newsletter success and drive continuous improvements.
Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
At least three (3) years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, or a related role with a focus on email analytics and optimization.
Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Marketo), analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Customer Journey Analytics), and project management platforms (e.g. Monday.com).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient understanding of email marketing best practices, digital marketing strategies, and content management systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable newsletter strategies.
Excellent communication skills, capable of distilling complex insights into clear, compelling recommendations.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Proactive problem-solver with a commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies.
High attention to detail and dedication to upholding brand standards.

Work Environment
Hybrid Position (3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote):
This position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence [three days per week] and remote work [two days per week]. Core work hours will be designated by the department. The office environment includes a standard workstation setup with collaborative spaces, while remote work requires a reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable home workspace. Employees must maintain availability during standard business hours and adhere to company policies for both in-office and remote work.

The hiring range for this position is $68,000 to $82,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
