EXTRAS Summer Camp is located at Salisbury Central School and the beautiful Lake Wononscopomuc in Lakeville, CT.
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Camp Counselors. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a fun and safe environment for children to learn, grow, and have unforgettable summer experiences. Full or Part Time Seasonal positions available.
Salaries DOE starting at $16.50/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with campers during various activities and events
- Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times
- Engage campers with appropriate games, crafts, and recreational activities
- Provide guidance and support to campers in developing social skills and positive behavior
- Collaborate with other counselors to create a positive and inclusive camp community
- Maintain a clean and organized camp environment
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting a plus but not required
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with children of various ages
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Patience, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic camp environment
