Asset Manager - Wind

Exus Renewables North America is a next-generation Independent Power Producer that develops, owns, and operates renewable energy assets (Wind, Solar and Battery Storage) while providing world class asset management services for over 5 GW of renewable energy assets to third parties. Exus has a proven track record of constructing and commercializing renewable energy assets and they are building their portfolio by acquiring and building utility-scale renewables projects and guiding those still in development through to full operational status.

As part of Exus’ asset management business, the firm undertakes full technical and commercial management of renewable energy portfolios worldwide. Exus draws on its wide-ranging expertise to optimize technical performance, reduce financial risk, and ensure long-term revenue certainty for their own and their clients’ renewable energy assets.

Exus is seeking an Asset Manager that will be responsible for will be responsible for managing a fleet of Wind plants, including but not limited to commercial, budgeting, contractual compliance, and overall project management.

Please note: this role has the option to be remote or fully onsite role with 4 days in office, 1 day remote, with reasonable flexibility in our downtown Pittsburgh office.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Management:

1. Be the main point of contact for investors and project equity partners.
2. Project manage all aspects of the portfolio.
3. Interact with proper internal and external teams to:
4. Maximize profit of the portfolio.
5. Optimize the performance of the portfolio.
6. Ensure compliance with all aspects of the portfolio
7. Oversee and timely delivery of appropriate reporting as required by project financing and compliance entities.
8. Develop and maintain a comprehensive commercial awareness of projects and driving the asset to achieve superior financial performance on behalf of the investors.
9. With help of site managers and O&M providers, be involved in day-to-day decisions of project operations.
10. Develop and maintain a strong sense of project’s profit &loss statements, budget variance, and being able to clearly communicate the drivers behind project financial performance.
11. Assess project risks and ensuring appropriate risk mitigations are put in place to protect from adverse situations.
12. Identify opportunities to improve the financial performance or risk profile of assets and develop a plan and execute on those opportunities.
13. Support/oversee/develop as needed, any Asset Management / Operations reporting activities including, monthly project reports, quarterly reports, compliance reports and other reporting activities as required.

Contract Management & Optimization

1. Provide contract management services for key commercial contracts (such as O&M contract, PPA, Interconnection Agreement, LLCA, Land Leases, etc.) for the portfolio, including contractual compliance by responsive parties, negotiating new contracts and amendments, handling contract questions or disputes, and interfacing with contract counterparties as required.
2. Manage the on-going contract compliance obligations in the company's Project Agreement Compliance Tracker. Ensuring that compliance task owners perform periodic updates, compliance assessments and compliance implementation.
3. Providing business services for portfolio including interfacing with insurance, tax, legal, accounts payable, IT, etc. as needed.
4. In conjunction with Commercial department, understand any ISO market rules and the impacts on the assets and assessing new or changing market design regulations.
5. If required, in conjunction with site personnel and other internal teams, manage the NERC compliance requirements of the project, including any regular filing.
6. Interact with Asset Optimization, Commercial, and accounting groups to drive continuous improvements from technical and financial perspectives.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field required.
2. 5 years’ experience in asset management of energy assets, Wind/Renewable assets preferred.
3. Deep understanding of plant operations, financial, and technical reporting of energy assets, Wind/Renewable assets preferred.
4. Experience with technical operational matters and translating them to commercial and financial analyses and decision making.
5. Ability to read, understand and implement legal contracts.
