General Summary:
Ensures delivery of excellent customer service through fast and accurate processing of customer orders, communication, and coordinating with other departments. Acts as the first point of customer contact for general inquiries like shipping, pricing, scheduling etc. Builds and maintains business relationships with customers by providing prompt and accurate service to increase business and promote customer loyalty.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains long term, positive relationships with assigned customers.
- Obtains and inputs customer orders and request additional orders from customers as needed.
- Updates customers on in-progress shipments, shipment delays, and delivery confirmation.
- Takes action to respond to and/or resolve customer issues.
- Interacts courteously, timely, and professionally with internal departments to satisfy customer issues and/or process exceptions within guidelines (including, but not limited to: shipping, pricing, scheduling, credit, and accounting).
- Keeps internal departments and external customers informed of any follow-up through resolution.
- Identifies and escalates customer issues outside established guidelines to the appropriate superior or manager.
- Follows departmental guidelines for methods of order input and accuracy.
- Utilizes all necessary internal applications, including, but not limited to: McLeod LME, PC Miler, Internet, e-mail, Word and Excel.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
- 2-year degree from an accredited university (Preferred)
- 1- 2 years of Customer Service experience (Preferred)
