What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician position at Eye Clinic of Edmonds?
As an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support for operation of the Ophthalmology medical clinic. You will support doctor and optometrist, along with patients through the variety of tasks related to patient care management, minor surgical assist, diagnostic testing, organization and communication.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical and ocular history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Check with patients and input data to patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations and minor surgical procedures and lasers
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Handle surgical scheduling and overflow reception duties
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills
- Proven working experience as an Ophthalmic assistant, technician, or medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical office management systems, software, and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and electronic medical records

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
