What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician/Office Manager position at Eye Physicians and Surgeons of Durham?
An experienced COA or COT s sought for our private ophthalmology practice in Durham. Do you prefer a small, personable experience rather than being lost in a big system? We are looking for an efficient technician who has an interest in practice management.
The position involves working directly with the doctor to make sure that all aspects of the practice are running smoothly. Candidates must have past experience with the following:
Insurance and Billing
Working Accounts Receivable
MIPS
Office Organization
Additioanally, the position requires at least 3 years of experience working with an ophthalmologist as an ophthalmic technician or assistant, and at least one year of prior experience with the following
-Taking patient history
-Checking Visual Acuity
-Checking IOPs (Goldman applanation)
-Assessing Pupils, EOMS, Confrontation fields
-Manual/Manifest Refractions.
-Visual Fields, OCTs, IOL Master, Topography, Pachymetry
Applicants should be very familiar with all aspects of ophthalmology patient workups and:
-have an interest in leadership and all aspects of running the practice (including insurance)
-enjoy providing excellent customer service
-enjoy contributing to a positive and friendly work environment, while maintaining a high level of efficiency
This position can be either full-time or part-time depending upon the candidate's preference.
