Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting the optometrist in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. Your responsibilities will include performing various diagnostic tests, collecting patient information, and maintaining accurate records. We are a Myopia Management Practice and will train you in this exciting area of Optometry.

Duties:
- Perform preliminary tests on patients, such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception tests
- Conduct diagnostic tests, including tonometry, retinal imaging, OCT, Myopia Master and visual field testing
- Assist with contact lens fittings and provide instructions on proper lens care
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is sterilized and functioning properly
- Collect patient medical history and update electronic health records (EHR) using medical coding systems
- Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and answer any questions or concerns they may have
- Maintain inventory of optical supplies and place orders as needed
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training as an Optometric Technician is preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical office or optometry practice is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology is essential
- Familiarity with EHR systems
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of medical coding for insurance billing purposes
- Knowledge of optical procedures and equipment is beneficial
