This experienced optician position has the responsibility for assisting Eyecare Associates to achieve its mission. Along with a team of 9 other opticians, you will assist in the optical and some lab duties and help facilitate an efficiently run optical. You will come to understand the mission of Eyecare Associates and help with the continuation of a successful practice in order to serve the eye care needs of northern Colorado. Pay is DOE.
Responsibilities:
-Measure, fit, adjust and repair eyewear
-Evaluate patient facial structure to determine proper frame fit. Dispenses spectacles and accessories; troubleshoots eyeglass problems including adjustments and repairs
-Recommend eyeglass frames, lenses and lens coatings after considering the prescription and the customer's occupation, habits, and facial features
-Utilize a lensmeter to record present eyeglass prescription
-Possess manual dexterity and the ability to do precision work
-Ability to correctly read prescription specifications
-Ensure that all measurements, coatings and tints are documented per work order specifications. Discuss customer's needs, occupation and hobbies to determine best lenses to suit lifestyle
-Verify quality and measurements of materials returned from lab utilizing lensmeter.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
ABO certified preferred
Experience with strong customer service focus in optical
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems, must be able to act decisively in implementing solutions
Strong computer skills
Must be available to work Monday through Friday office hours
Intimate knowledge of finishing lab operations
Ability to design, implement and manage QC
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
