As the company expands to meet growing demand, it seeks a licensed Optometrist to join the team and play a pivotal role in delivering care across a designated regional territory. POSITION:

Reporting to the CEO, the Optometrist will serve as a front-line clinician, delivering comprehensive, mobile eyecare services to patients across South Florida, including the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach regions. This includes performing routine and diagnostic eye exams, prescribing corrective lenses, diagnosing and managing ocular conditions, and educating patients on ongoing care and eye health.

This role is designed for an OD who thrives in a dynamic, autonomous environment and is passionate about increasing access to high-quality vision care, particularly for seniors, Medicare patients, and underserved communities. The position is fully supported with state-of-the-art mobile equipment and a dedicated administrative and logistics team, enabling the Optometrist to focus solely on providing exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will be clinically strong, adaptable to non-traditional care environments, and committed to advancing innovative models of healthcare delivery across Florida’s aging and diverse populations.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Deliver high-quality, comprehensive eye exams using portable diagnostic equipment, including refraction, slit lamp, tonometry, retinal imaging, and other tools necessary to evaluate visual health and ocular conditions


Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration, referring out when necessary in accordance with Florida optometry scope-of-practice laws


Travel to and provide care at a variety of on-site locations, including:

o Assisted living and memory care communities

o Senior centers and adult day care programs

o Community health events and pop-up clinics

o Residential homes (as appropriate)


Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with Florida Board of Optometry regulations and HIPAA standards, utilizing mobile EHR systems provided by the practice


Educate patients and caregivers on proper eye health, prescription options, disease management, and follow-up care recommendations


Collaborate with internal administrative and logistics staff to coordinate:

o Daily routing and scheduling

o Patient intake and insurance verification (including Medicare)

o Delivery and fitting of prescription eyewear

o Ongoing care plans and referrals for specialty or surgical care


Maintain a compassionate, professional, and culturally sensitive demeanor in all patient interactions, upholding the company’s mission of delivering dignified, accessible care in every setting


Uphold infection control standards and mobile care protocols in compliance with both company and state health guidelines


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school
  • Active Florida State Optometry License in good standing
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular travel within assigned region
  • Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and patient communication skills
  • Experience with Medicare billing and working with elderly populations is strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working independently and in mobile or non-traditional clinical settings
