Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist optometrists in providing exceptional patient care, performing various clinical tasks, and ensuring a smooth operation within the practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures and possess excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing patients and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity, color vision, and intraocular pressure measurements.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care.
- Uphold aseptic techniques while handling equipment and materials to maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for patients and provide exceptional customer service.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or optical setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Compulink is a plus.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are essential.
