We are seeking a highly driven and experienced individual to lead the development and growth of our operations department.
Job Scope:
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of bus operations and scheduling to ensure transportation services are rendered in a safe and timely manner in accordance with our customers’ needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to improve efficiency, implement new technologies (like route optimization tools), and make critical decisions regarding operational oversight and fleet optimization
- Ensure drivers are adhering to company policies and complying with FMCSA rules
- Manages customer relations in the event of operational service failures.
- Resolves operational and driver safety issues
- Attends daily shop meetings and weekly leadership and operations meetings
- Acts as the liaison between the shop and drivers regarding maintenance issues/bus availability
- Addresses issues with drivers which include, but are not limited, to severe speeding, distracted driving, accidents, tardiness/attendance, customer complaints, co-worker complaints
- Participates in driver interviews and in the selection of new hires.
- Oversees scheduling and new hire driver training
- Coaches and assists drivers to better prepare them for a successful charter
- Organizes driver safety meetings /creates content
Requirements
- Previous management experience within the transportation industry
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of FMCSA rules
- Employee relations experience
- Previous commercial driving experience is preferred but not required
- Must be organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $98,078.00 - $109,402.00 per year
