What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator position at EZ-ACCESS, a dba of Homecare Products, Inc.?
SUMMARY:
Performs production tasks that require mainly physical abilities and efforts. Tasks can generally be learned within one to three months of employment and could include the use of fabrication machines such as cutoff saws, brake presses, punch presses, drill presses, deburr tools, sanders and other hand tools as needed. Based on schedule needs, this position may be required to work in other department areas as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs basic and routine assembly operations
· Uses tools such as drills, drill press, deburr tool, sander, screwdrivers, pliers, crimpers, and other handheld tools as needed
· Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
· Follows verbal and written instructions in completing highly repetitive tasks
· Ability to understand blueprint drawings for job at hand
· Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
· Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
· Produces components at rates expected
· Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: No prior experience or training required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Read, write and speak English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills. Ability to measure distance using a tape measure or other measuring device. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and working drawings. Use calculator as needed.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple multiple instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic computer experience, ability to learn internal programs
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; kneel or crouch. The employee is constantly using hands to perform functions. This position requires good manual dexterity. Will frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Stand and walk on a frequent basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typical manufacturing environment with changes in temperature due to location of work to be performed.
Use of personal protective equipment required.
