Summary: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing and performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production facility equipment, plan repair activities and develop maintenance procedure according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of Spokane Galvanizings business goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to carry out essential job functions, included but not limited to:
- Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations
- Track expenses and oversee the budget for maintenance.
- Plan and manage all repair and installation activities for Spokane Galvanizing facilities
- Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates.
- Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new supplies when necessary.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilitys equipment. This will require creating and following a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production periods and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during down times
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Ensure all department employees adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Technical Capacity
- Computer literate and proficient in written and oral communication
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 4 years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
- An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Boiler experience or Quick Recovery Flat Flame Furnace preferred but not required
Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and able to write simple correspondence. Have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Have the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages. Ability to read and comprehend measuring tools such as a tape measure.
Reasoning Ability: Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Possess the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
